TV actresses like Jana Kramer and Hayden Panettiere increasingly try to make the jump from the small screen to the country stage.
It seems that in this generation if you’re famous in one media form, then you should try to be famous in others as well. This is evidenced by most Disney Channel stars of the last decade, along with talent shows hiring musicians to judge their future competition rather than industry professionals.
Country music is no different. Currently, Jana Kramer and Hayden Panettiere are two celebs that come to mind. Jana Kramer was on One Tree Hill and is now on the up-and-coming in country music. Her first prominent single, “Why Ya Wanna” kept people wanting more. She’s been on a promotional tour and is receiving quite a lot of press while sharing the stage with successful country artists like Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, and Lady Antebellum.
Hayden Panettiere is also doing well in the country market. Her single “Telescope” from the NBC show Nashville has found success. This is not the first time Panettiere has tried to make a music crossover; she’s quietly released other songs and music videos.
Now, Lucy Hale looks to join the country family as she’s set to release a country album in 2013. Hale plays one of the leads on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars and has been singing for years; she was actually one of the winners of the only season of American Juniors in 2003. Remember when Simon Cowell made the kids version of American Idol? Neither do we. But, Hale has done very well since childhood and has proven to have a strong voice. It will be interesting to see how she transfers into country music.
